The BMES officer team has proposed some updates to our Constitution. The proposed changes include:

- Extension of officer duties for Treasurer and Industry Relations
- Addition of Department Relations events to Distinguished Membership

You can view the proposed Constitution here. Changes are marked in red. The vote for the proposed changes will be held in a business meeting immediately following the General Meeting on May 2nd. If you would like to offer comments please let us know at bmes@cae.wisc.edu.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the initial officer nominations last week! It's crunch time, and I'm sure you are all feeling the heat (I know I sure am!). To give you plenty of time to get ready for your exams, presentations, papers, and whatever else you might have, we'll only be having one event this week, Science Olympiad...the middle schoolers at Edgewood still need to learn! Congratulations to our new officers! In case you missed the meeting last Wednesday, here are the results of the elections:

If you're looking for a leadership role within BMES but missed out on these positions, don't fear! We'll be having elections for 13 officer positions at the end of the spring semester...plenty of opportunities to get involved!

With the semester wrapping up, this will be the last big week of events for BMES. On Monday we'll have an Essay Writing Workshop for those of you who are applying to the BME Department this semester. Then we'll have our usually weekly events, Science Olympiad and The River Food Pantry. Finally we'll be dealing blackjack for another Casino Night this Saturday.

Hi everyone,

Hope you had a great break! With the semester wrapping up soon, we wanted to give those of you who want Distinguished Membership several events to attend this week. On Wednesday we'll being going to Edgewood Middle School for Science Olympiad and we'll also be having our final General Meeting of the semester with speaker David Beebe, Ph.D. In addition to hearing about his startup company, Ratio Inc., we'll be holding elections for the following officer positions for next semester:

Industry/Research Chair (2 semesters)
Freshman Representative (2 semesters)
Webmaster (1 semester)

On Thursday we'll be having two social events. BMEScramblers at Mickies Dairy Bar in the morning, and Bowling at Union South in the evening, so you can start and end your day with BMES! We'll also be going to The River Food Pantry this Friday, and dealing blackjack at Casino Nights this Friday and Saturday for fundraising. Finally, if you're going on our National Habitat for Humanity Trip over winter break, please attend our Habitat ALPs Workshop next Sunday.
